Kimberly Hart gazed around the club with slight uneasiness. This date she had agreed to go on was not her idea of a blast, or even an "okay" time. Double dates were never her thing, especially when they were blind dates at that.
"Oh stop worrying," Aisha Campbell kidded her friend. "You know whatever guy it is he'll flip for you,"
"Maybe," Kimberly shrugged and pushed carmel strands of her hair from her eyes. "I still can't believe you talked me into this."
"You know I've only been back to Angel Grove for a week and am not totally comfortable being with all these new changes lately. It's at least you can do is to agree to go on a date here with me,"
Kimberly nodded and with a sigh plopped down on to the chair of the table they stood at. She glanced at her watch. "Well, where are they?"
"Late obviously. Give 'em a minute. Chill, girl." Kimberly gave her a look. "I'm kidding, really."
"Whatever." Kimberly glanced around the club quickly, scanning for any sign of a person she knew. Gasping lightly, her eyes landed on two tall figures coming into the room. One in black; the other in green and white.
Well my dear you'll know that he pleases me
But sometimes illusion ain't no revolution
That ain't no release for me
"Aisha. . .?"
"Kim, Aisha." the all-too familiar voice drawled lightly, the slight surfer tone which had always been used no where in sight.
Kimberly's eyes widened even more as she quickly stood up. "Tommy?!"
Tommy smiled. "It's me."
"But what, how, where, when?!"
"Easy, slow down on the questions." he chuckled lightly. "One at a time."
She nodded, a smile adorning her features. "Okay, why are you here?"
"I'm your date, that's why." he shook his head with amusement. "I hope you were here for your date anyway."
"I am," she sat back down. "I can't believe you are here."
"May I have this dance?" a sudden voice asked. Kimberly glanced up and smiled when she saw her long-time friend Zack Taylor approach Aisha. She grinned with happiness as Zack and Aisha went to the dance floor.
"They make a cute couple," Kimberly noted with a smile as she watched them fall into each other's arms.
"Yes, they do. But not as cute as were are . . .were."
Kimberly's expression went down. "Yeah, we were a cute couple. I'm sorry--"
"Don't apologize." Tommy stopped her with a finger touching her lips. "It's the past. I don't know why you did it but I forgave you a long time ago."
Kimberly gazed up at him in surprise. "You did?"
"When I saw you, two years ago, captured by Divatox, I realized I always loved you and could never stay mad at you. You were my love, hope. . .spirit. Best friend."
Kimberly looked down. "I've always felt the same way for you."
Too much of something is bad enough
But something's coming over me to make me wonder
Too much of nothing is just as tough
I need to know the way to feel to keep me satisfied
"Then can we start over?"
"You really want to? Even after I hurt you, so many years ago?"
"Yes."
"What about Kat?"
Tommy cringed slightly. "Kat. I haven't heard that name for a long time. She broke up with me a long time ago, almost right after we gave the powers to the new Turbo Rangers. She said she couldn't date me because she knew that I was in love with you still. She couldn't put up with being second in my heart and not first, like she deserved to be."
"Oh."
"I haven't been sorry one bit about that though. As soon as she told me that, I knew it was true. I have always loved you and I think I should have told you this a long time ago."
Kimberly gazed up at him, his expression totally serious. "You really mean that?"
"Yeah." he leaned over and drew her closer, kissing her lightly.
I wrapped myself from around your finger
Hold me too tight or left to finger
Something fine built to last
Slipped up there I guess we're running out of time
Too fast
"Look at that," Aisha whispered lightly. Zack glanced to where she was looking and smiled at Tommy and Kimberly.
"They do make such a cute couple."
"Yeah. It's too bad it took them so long to find this out after that separation."
Zack smiled at Aisha. "Now may we continue that dance?"
"As you wish,"
Too much of something is bad enough
But something's coming over me to make me wonder
Too much of nothing is just as tough
I need to know the way to feel to keep me satisfied
