"How is she?" Tommy looked momentarily away from the window, but then turned back.
"There were some...complications," Adam informed her and she gasped. "The babies got their cords wrapped around each other, and they had to operate before they suffocate."
"Poor Kimberly!" Tanya sat down.
"They kicked us out when they discovered it." Rocky sat forward. "Kimberly cried for us not to go, but the doctor insisted.
"Where is Billy?" Tanya looked around for him.
"We couldn't get a hold of him"
"I don't know where he could be," Tommy slammed his fist on the sill. "I wish there was something I could do,"
"Tommy don't worry," Adam insisted. "They are all going to be fine."
"I just wish that I could be in there with her," his heart wrenched.
A nurse came out, and they all were quiet to hear the news.
"We have both of the babies, and they are all doing fine. The mother is fine, and she has requested for Tommy,"
They all gave him an encouraging look as he shoved through the double doors and into her room. Kimberly looked so pale, but she had a glow about her. She smiled when she saw him, and held up one of the babies in light pink.
"Tommy, meet Lyris Marie!" he put his finger inside her tiny hand, and she gripped it feebly. He looked down at Kimberly, and took her hand. He bent over and kissed her gently on the forehead.
"I am so proud of you Kimberly," he could not take his eyes off of the little miracle she held in her arms.
"Would you like to hold her?" Kimberly started to shift the bundle.
"I don't think that would be..." but before he could continue, he was holding the baby girl. His heart melted when she yawned, and cried a little. A knock on the door turned both of their heads, and the others peeked in from the side
"Can we come in?" Rocky was the first one in, followed by Adam and Tanya. Before they made it to the bed, another voice drew their attention.
"Its a good thing Zordon knew how to get a hold of us!" Trini walked through the door, followed by Jason, Zack, and Aisha.
"I'm so happy you are all here!" Kimberly's eyes lit up, and started to swell with tears.
"We wouldn't miss it for the world." Zack. "It's funny, but I always thought that Trini would be the first to have children."
"Excuse me?" Trini put her arms around his waist, and they kissed. Tommy handed the fussy child back to its mother, and Kimberly sighed contentedly.
"Where is Billy" she sat up suddenly.
"Sorry I am late," Billy stood in the doorway, holding a little blue bundle. Everyone gathered around him as he pulled the blanket away from the babes face. It wrinkled, and cried as the light hit its face, and Tanya begged to hold him. Tommy went over to Billy, and put a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Kimberly, I tried to get here, but traffic was murder, and..."
"Don't worry about it." she beamed as he went to stand by the bed.
"Lyris Marie" she said as he held the tiny being.
"Now this is morphnomenal!" he exclaimed, and tears came to his eyes. A nurse came in at that time, and started to usher them from the room.
"I think the new family should have a few minutes before we bring the babies back to the nursery," Everyone hugged Kimberly and left, promising to stop in the next morning to see them. Tommy and Billy looked at each other.
"I'll see you two... I mean four tomorrow."
The couple watched him leave, and then looked at their two beautiful children.
"You named the girl Kimberly, now I get to name the boy,"
"You don't like the name?" she raised an eyebrow.
"I love the name, and I am sure you will like this one: William Thomas,"
"Tommy will like that I think." Billy sat on the edge of the bed, and Kimberly leaned against his broad shoulders. She was so happy, and now she felt her life was complete.
"Congratulations Daddy," she turned her face towards his.
"Congratulations Mommy," he kissed her, and laughed as the babies started to fuss, forcing them to stop. "I love you,"
"I love you more!"
Tommy stood out in the waiting room, and watched the rain again. Everyone else had gone home, and he knew he had better go soon too. He turned to leave, and saw a rush of blonde run into the room. She carried a bag of stuffed animals, and her face was flushed.
"Am I too late!" she cried, and Tommy smiled.
"No, you are just in time." he went to her and pulled her close. Kat gave him a weird look, as he led her down the hall to the elevators.
