Billy Cranston sat on his bed, holding a frame in his hands. The picture was of Trini Kwan, his best friend and secret love. She was smiling; her long black hair was flowing loosely down to her hips. Her eyes seemed to glitter, as if they had a secret of their own. You always knew what I was going to say before I said it, Billy thought. He sighed despontantly. Trini had left to go to a peace conference in Geneva. She, Zack and Jason were problaby having a good time.
Ever since Aisha, Adam, and Rocky had joined the team, Billy began to feel more alone. He liked the three of them very much, but they couldn't replace the special friendship he'd had with the three departed Original Rangers. Tommy and I are on different wavelengths. He's the leader and I'm the scientist. Kim is Tommy's boyfriend. As Zack would say, 'Nuff said.'. Aisha and Kim and Rocky and Adam are all close friends. He brushed the picture with his hand as memories started flipping through his mind.
He'd been upset about getting thrown into the garbage can by Bulk and Skull during an assembly. She'd offered to walk him home; she draped her slender arm around his shoulders for support. Billy had tripped and fell; she'd helped him up and gave him hug. "Thanks. I needed that," he'd said.
"I know," Trini said,"Everything will be fine. I promise."
But how could everything be fine? He'd lost her. For the past three months, he'd never felt so unsure of himself. He questioned his knowledge whenever he worked on a device to thwart off Lord Zedd and his minions.
Recently, he'd always wondered if he'd done his homework correctly. He double-checked his work every night just to pass time and not think about his lonliness or how much he missed Trini.
He tinkered with his device for a few more minutes and paused. In just a split second of stopping to think, Billy felt how pointless his efforts were. He'd never get over her. His feelings for her could never diminish even if he drowned himself in his work or if he locked himself in a cottage in the middle of the Savanna. His heart wouldn't stop beating for her.
He couldn't deny it; he'd love her forever.
He spun around and blinked several times to make sure the Fates weren't playing tricks on him. "Please tell me I'm not seeing things."
"Um, no Billy, you're not seeing things," Trini said,"I'm here."
All the emotions and lonliness erupted from inside the depths of his soul; he started to cry.
Trini dropped her bags, wrapped her arms around him and held him tightly.
"I'm so happy to see you," he said, trying to control his overwhelming emotions.
Billy said,"I......".
"I love you," Trini interrupted. "When I left for Geneva, I thought I'd get over you. Life would move on. But it didn't. All I could think about was you."
"Me too. I thought I'd find someone else. Trini, I'll never find someone else. I've already found you."
She embraced him, and she wiped his tears away with her hankercheif.
