Dawn Of The Silver Ranger
Part 1
by Stephkat
Yamica Boracanzi was sitting in her geometry class, staring up at the ceiling and trying to
block out the sound of her teachers voice. She was different from everyone else in the room, with
her fair skin, long blonde hair and mischievous blue eyes. The thing that made her different was
the fact that she and Billy Cranston were the only ones in Angel Grove that knew the secret
identities of the Power Rangers. The pair helped out in the Power Chamber, running errands and
repairing the Zords when necessary. Yamica was from Paraguay, a small country in South
America, she had moved to Angel Grove when her parents had died. She suddenly slipped off
into a daydream.
She was sitting on a bench in the park, when her boyfriend, Rocky DeSantos, came and sat down
beside her. The two immediately began making out.
"Yamica? Yamica? Are you okay?" Mrs. Appleby asked, giving her a warning look.
"Oh, yeah, fine." She replied, quickly.
"Then perhaps you can tell us the square root of twenty." Mrs. Appleby said, almost mocking
her.
"Uh, I don't know." Yamica replied, slipping down into her chair, hoping everyone would just go
away.
"Maybe if you started paying attention in class, you would." Mrs. Appleby said, as the bell
rang.
Yamica walked to her locker, preparing to meet the gang at the Youth Center. As she was putting
her books inside her locker, Principal Kaplan walked up to her. Kaplan did not like her, she knew
it, everyone else knew it. "Young lady, explain this!" He demanded, holding up a nasty note with
her name on it.
"But I didn't write that!" She explained.
"Detention!" He roared back, storming off.
"Damn!" She yelled, slamming her locker shut as hard as she could.
Yamica headed over to detention hall, and sat down at an unoccupied desk. She buried her head
in her arms, and didn't get up until it was time to go home.
When she got to her house, she checked her answering machine. There was only one message.
"Hi, Yamica? It's Rocky. Where were you this afternoon? I'll call back at seven. Bye."
She rolled her eyes. The phone rang. She answered it. "Hello?"
"Hi!"
"It's not seven yet."
"So? Where were you today?"
"Some asshole wrote an ugly note about Kaplan and put my name on it. I got detention."
"Bummer."
Yeah, anyway, I have to go do my physics homework."
"Okay. Bye."
"Bye." Yamica said, hanging up. She finished her homework, then, went to bed.

Bam!
"Ow!" Yamica yelled. She had fallen out of bed. "Shit!" Then, Yamica remembered her karate
tournament today. "Dammit!" She pulled herself up, and started to get dressed.
Suddenly, Rocky barged in, as she was standing there in her underwear and bra. "Don't you know
how to knock??!!" She shouted.
"Sorry." He said, backing out of the room and blushing as red as Tommy's Zeonizer.
She pulled on a pair of jeans and a white belly shirt and yelled that he could come in.
"I'm really sorry." He said, laughing.
"Just knock next time, okay?" She asked, packing her gym bag with her karate gi and her black
belt. She tied her hair up with a white scrunchy and headed out the door with Rocky beside
her.
They got to school at 7:45, way to early to go to class. "Hey, I need to talk to Tommy, do you
know where he is?" Yamica asked Rocky.
"I think he said he was going to be in the computer room with Aisha." Rocky replied as she ran
down the hall.
Suddenly, she slipped on something wet and fell flat on her face. "Ow. The day hasn't even
started and I'm already having bad luck." She muttered, sitting up. "Damn!" She cursed as she
saw her book bag had come unzipped and her books were scattered all over the hallway. She
brushed the hair out of her face and stood up.
"Need any help?" a familiar voice asked from behind her.
"It would be nice." She said to Adam Park, the black power ranger. He helped her pick up her
books. "Thanks."
She said, rushing off again to the computer room. Right when she got there, she tripped over a
chair and fell again. "This is a hell of a day." She muttered, as Tommy helped her up.
"You okay?" He asked, concerned.
"Yeah, fine." She replied, sulking.
"Are you going to be at the karate tournament today?"
"Oh, jeez, sorry. I can't. Me and Kimberly already made a movie date for this afternoon. I totally
forgot." Tommy replied, looking guilty
"Oh, well, that's okay." She said forgivingly. "But you better be at the next one."
"I think I can do that." He said, smiling.
"You better. Anyhow, I gotta go. See you later!" Yamica said, running out the door to her home
base.
* * *
Yamica managed to survive the exceptionally long day. Afterwards, she headed over to the
Youth Center, where the tournament was being held. She headed to the locker room to change
into her gi. Then, she came out and took her place in line beside the other competitors, waiting to
be called up to the mats. Finally, her name was called, and she walked onto the mats. She bowed
to the sensei, and bowed to the challenger. He was tall, with his long blonde hair pulled into a
ponytail. He had a black belt tied around his waist. "Begin!" The sensei said.
The blonde boy charged at Yamica, but she leapt to the side, avoiding him. She did a tornado
kick to his chest, knocking him off his feet. He tripped her up, then jumped to his feet. She got up
before he could slam her. She did a defense kata, blocking his punches. They both jumped into
the air at the same time, preparing to knock each other down, but Yamica grabbed his chest in
mid-air, slamming him down to the mats. The sensei yelled for them to stop. Yamica got up, and
bowed again to the sensei and the competitor.
She fought a couple other black belts, but by the end of the tournament, won the trophy. She left
the gym, with the prize in her hand. She was proud, but a little upset Tommy had not been there
to see her win it. She headed over to the park, and sat down on a bench. Suddenly, her
communicator went off. "Zordon, what's up?" She asked, bringing the communicator to her
mouth.
"Come to the Command Center immediately." Zordon answered.
"I'm on my way." Yamica answered, teleporting in a flash of white light.
* * *
"Alpha, what's wrong?" Yamica asked the little robot.
She knew they would only contact her in a major emergency. "Billy is being attacked by Crab
Claw!" Alpha answered.
"The other rangers are busy fighting another monster, so it is your job to save him." Zordon
said.
"Okay." She answered. Alpha handed her the Power bow. It was a long wooden staff, covered in
ancient pictures and relics. It held power only Zordon knew of. Since she didn't have a Zeo
crystal or a power coin, Billy had designed it for her to use in time of battle. She teleported
out.
* * *
Billy was being beat up pretty badly. He had numerous bruises and cuts covering his body.
Suddenly, Yamica arrived to help. "Leave him alone!" She said, taking a stance.
Crab Claw knocked Billy to the side and turned to face her. He looked her over from head to toe.
"You're going to stop me?" He asked, laughing evilly.
"What the hell do you think I'm here for?" She said, charging at him full force. He was strong.
Stronger than any monster she had ever encountered. He quickly hit her into a tree with his
massive claw. "Where are your friends to help you?" He asked, nastily. She jumped up and
attacked him again. He knocked the Power bow out of her hand and away from her, then drove it
home with a punch to her face, busting her lip and sending her spinning to the ground. He threw
a fishing net over her and picked up the Power bow. He destroyed it and advanced on her with
his claws snapping. "I guess in the end you were alone. So, where are your friends now?"
"We're right here!" Tommy shouted, kicking Crab Claw away from Yamica. The rangers attacked
him, destroying him. "Are you okay?" Rocky asked her, taking the net off of her.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She replied, as the rangers de-morphed. Yamica felt the warm blood trickle
down her lip where Crab Claw split it. Rocky gently reached up and wiped it away. "He
destroyed the Power bow." Yamica said.
"It's okay." He replied.
"C'mon you guys. We have to get back and make sure Billy is okay." Tommy said.
"I'm okay. Don't fuss over me." Billy said. They teleported in a rainbow of colors.
* * *
"Alpha, what am I going to do?" Yamica asked. "Does this mean I can't fight
anymore?"
"The Power bow is gone, there is nothing I can do to bring it back. But, we could send you to the
planet Xamax to retrieve the silver power. If you manage to retrieve it, you will have a suit and a
Zord, just like the other rangers." Zordon explained.
"You have to let me go!" Yamica cried, desperately. "It is a dangerous journey which faces many
perils. But I can see how bad you want the power, and I believe having another ranger could be at
our advantage." Zordon said. "Rocky, Adam, and Aisha will accompany you on your journey.
Billy, Kimberly and Tommy will stay behind to defend Angel Grove."
"I am loading a gem into the morphing grid now. Are you ready rangers?" Alpha asked.
"Yeah." Yamica replied. Aisha, Adam, Yamica, and Rocky lined up shoulder to shoulder. They
slowly faded, and disappeared into the unknown.
The rangers landed roughly in a dense tropical jungle. Yamica groaned, stood up, and brushed
herself off. She was surprised to see she was not wearing her original clothes, but an animal skin
bikini. She looked around her. Aisha was wearing the same thing, but Adam and Rocky had on
only skin loincloths.
"Good lord people, put some clothes on!" Aisha said when she saw the guys.
"Ha-ha. You are so funny." Adam said sarcastically.
"Yeah, speak for yourself." Rocky added, looking Yamica over from head to toe.
"We did not come here to fight, so let's get going!" Yamica said, exasperated.
"Jeez, okay." Adam said, backing away. They walked for a while, then decided to stop for a rest.
When Adam saw Rocky looking into the jungle with a scrutinizing look all over his face, he
decided to ask. "What's wrong?"
"I thought I saw something." He replied, still staring in the jungle.
"What?" Adam asked.
"I don't know." Rocky replied. "I'll be right back." He added, walking into the jungle.
"Where are you going?" Yamica yelled to him.
"Trust me." Came the reply.
"Yeah, last time I trusted you, you got thrown in jail and I had to come bail you out at 3 in the
morning!" She shouted back.
No reply.
"You think he'll be all right?" Aisha asked her.
"He better. Cause I'm not hauling ass in there to go save him." Yamica replied.
Aisha just laughed.
* * *
Rocky walked around, looking for a sign, anything, to prove someone had been spying on them.
He was positive he had seen a dark shadow run away from the spot they were sitting at. He
suddenly heard a rustle in the bushes to his left. He turned to face the sound. There was nothing
there. He walked towards the bushes, when he suddenly fell in a small pit. "Hey!" He cried.
The hole was soon surrounded by aborigines, small black Indians with white war paint smeared
all over their bodies. Rocky easily leapt out of the pit. "You'll have to do better than that to catch
me!" He shouted, grabbing a vine and swinging across the pit to safety. "Ha!" Rocky announced,
pleased with himself. Suddenly, a large net dropped over him. "Hey!" He cried as the Indians
lifted him up. "You did better," He added as they carried him off.
* * *
"Uh, guys, has Rocky been gone a really long time, or is it just me?" Aisha asked.
"It's just you." Yamica replied.
"Oh, you're real nice." Adam said to her with a disapproving look all over his face.
"Aren't I?" She answered back.
"He could be lying dead in a ditch somewhereÉ." Aisha said.
"Serves him right. Him and his damn 'noises'." Yamica implied, stretching out on the grass.
"Oh come on, we have to go make sure he's okay." Adam said, tugging on her arm.
"You go, I'm fine here." She said.
"Do I have to make you come?" Adam asked.
"There is nothing in this world you could do to make me- Stop!" She said as Adam started to
tickle her stomach.
"Are you going to come?" He asked.
"Okay, okay! Stop it!" She managed to get out between laughter.
"Okay, let's go." Adam said, walking away from her.
"Bye." Yamica replied, getting comfortable.
"All right, that's it." Adam said, advancing on her.
"Don't you touch me, Adam Park. I swear, I'll-" Her words were cut off when he lifted her off the
ground and swung her up on his shoulder. "Put me down! Oh, Adam, I'm going to get you for this
one! I'm going to kick you, and the place isn't going to be very prettyÉ.." She warned.
"Kick me there, and I'll knock you one, so help me god." Adam said back, threateningly.
"Adam, put her down, and Yamica, stop threatening to make him a girl." Aisha said, holding in
her laughter.
Adam obediently set Yamica gently on the ground. She kicked him in the knee. "Ow!" Adam
yelled, hopping around on one foot.
"Serves you right." Yamica said, triumphantly.
"Why I oughtaÉ.." He said, balling his hands into fists.
"You oughta what?" She asked, challenging his glare.
"I oughta do this." He said, tripping her up and propelling himself on top of her unprotected
form.
"Hey! Get off of me!" She said, trying to push him up.
"Not until you apologize." Adam said, crossing his arms and sitting on her stomach.
"Apologize? You're the one who picked me up like Tarzan, swung me over your shoulders, and
carried me off like some damn possession of yours." She answered back.
"Has anyone ever told you that you have a serious attitude problem?" Adam asked her.
"And lived to tell about it? No." She replied, giving him a cold glare.
"Would you two come on?" Aisha asked, stamping her foot.
"Not until she apologizes." Adam said.
"Yamica, apologize." Aisha demanded.
"No." Yamica said.
"Do it." Adam threatened, balling his hand into a fist and holding it inches from her face.
"You won't hit me, I know it." She said, grinning.
"Wanna bet?" Adam asked.
"If you two don't come on right now, I'm going to leave you both here and go on ahead by
myself." Aisha said, stomping her foot.
"Oh, okay, fine." Adam said, standing up off of Yamica. She also stood up, brushing herself off.
They both followed Aisha into the unknown darkness.
* * *
"Let me go assholes!" Rocky yelled at the top of his lungs. He was tied to a wooden post with his
hands tied above him. He was in a camp, with many lighted fires and these huts made of foliage
and lots of unknown plants. "Who are you people anyway? What do you want with me?" He
demanded.
Most of the tribe ignored him. Others turned to look, but no one said anything. Suddenly, a young
girl, around the age of 13 or 14, came up to him. "Who the hell are you?" Rocky asked, coldly.
"I'm Talia. Princess of the tribe." She explained.
"Why have you abducted me?" Rocky asked.
"Cause I said so. I told the warriors to." Talia explained, smiling.
Rocky decided right then and there he did not like her. She suddenly ran away, leaving him
confused and helpless. I sure hope Adam, Yamica, and Aisha come soon, he thought.
I don't know how much longer I can last.
To be continued...
