Billy Mitchell, the Blue Ranger, sat in front of the computer. The bright lights flashed off his glasses. He keyed in one last sequence then he typed: [run Vortex Program 121] and hit the enter key. Digitized music filled the garage. Billy took off his glasses, pulled on a pair of thick gloves with wires connecting them to the computer and slipped on a helmet that covered his face.
"Start Program One." Billy said. A bright light filled the helmet.
Suddenly, Billy found himself on a grassy plain studded with crystallized boulders. "It worked!" Billy yelled. "I've managed to open a gateway to the Virtual Plain!"
He ran towards the largest boulder, which was glowing a bright indigo. Billy reverently stroked the crystal and was rewarded by an erotic sensation that traveled up his arm and slammed into his brain. Bright colors swam in front of Billy's eyes as the pleasing tingle sailed through his blood, covering his entire body. These intense sensations continued in a loop until Billy broke contact with the pulsating, royal blue crystal boulder. Billy fell to his knees, panting.
"This is so wild." The Blue Ranger gasped. He looked around and found a clear blue stream. Billy was thirsty, but he did not know if the water was drinkable. There were no animals or bones around the stream to tell him. Just as Billy was about to ignore his thirst and continue his explorations, a Blue Wolf trotted up to the stream. The Wolf lapped up the water with no ill effects. Then, the Wolf padded up to Billy and licked his face. Billy was reminded of his Ninjetti Animal Spirit. Encouraged, Billy cupped his hands and scooped up some water. First, he wet his lips. He felt no tingling or other signs of poison, so he sipped some of the water. It was cold and very sweet. Still feeling no ill effects, Billy drank more until his thirst was gone. The Wolf yipped and rolled over, so Billy could scratch its furry belly.
"You're a good! Sweet, wonderful Wolf!" Billy cooed. The Wolf yapped happily. He loved being the center of attention. After more scratching, Billy stopped. The Wolf looked at the Blue Ranger. "Let's go exploring!" Billy said. The Wolf jumped up and barked excitedly.
The Blue Ranger and the Wolf ran down stream, dodging crystal boulders, flowers made of garnets, sapphires, emeralds and pearls, trees made of gold and silver, and strange animals. The ground was soft and spongy. Billy felt as though he could run forever in this magical world. Billy was strong, stronger than all of the Rangers together. He could jump higher than he ever had during gymnastics. He could beat Lord Zedd and Rita and Goldar all by himself. He was perfect. "YEAH!" Billy screamed with exhilaration.
Tommy Oliver, the White Ranger, slammed the phone down. "Dammit it all to hell!" He swore.
"Mr. Mitchell hasn't heard from Billy either?" Kimberly Harte, the Pink Ranger and Tommy's girlfriend, asked timidly.
"No. And, the garage is locked!" Tommy ran his fingers though his long hair. "Mitchell thinks that Billy was working on a project of some kind and lost track of time."
"For five days?!" Kimberly exclaimed, incredulous.
"Yeah, I don't believe it either." Tommy smiled ruefully. He and Kimberly joined the rest of the Rangers at their usual table in the Youth Center. Adam Chung, the Black Ranger, took in his leader's pinched scowl and sighed.
"No luck?" Aisha Campbell, the Yellow Ranger, asked.
"I'd would have had better luck convincing Mitchell that I was the one on the grassy knoll than trying to convince him that Billy is in danger." Tommy growled. The Rangers laughed at their leader, then sobered up.
"What should we do?" Rocky de Santos, the Red Ranger, asked.
"We can ask Zordon if he can use the Viewing Globe to see inside of Billy's garage." Adam suggested.
"Good idea. Let's go." Tommy put money on the table for the tab. He and the rest of the Rangers left the Youth Center and teleported to the Command Center.
WHAT IS WRONG, RANGERS? Zordon asked when he saw the worried looks on his young Rangers' faces.
"We think something is wrong with Billy." Tommy said. "Can you find him on the Viewing Globe?"
Alpha-5 pushed a few buttons. Then the little robot exclaimed; "Ai yi yi yi yi yi yi! Billy's in the garage! And, according to my sensors, he hasn't moved for five days!" The Rangers gathered around the Viewing Globe. It showed Billy slumped over his computer.
"What's wrong with him?" Rocky gasped.
"It appears that he's unconscious. He's been in front of that blasted computer for five days! God knows how long he's been out!" Tommy slammed his fist against his open palm. "Alpha, teleport us into Billy's garage!" Tommy ordered.
"OK. Here you go!" Alpha exclaimed as he complied with Tommy's order.
The Rangers teleported into the Mitchells' garage. Once they rematerialized, Tommy stormed over to Billy and ripped the strange helmet off him.
Tommy growled and yanked Billy out of his chair. The enraged White Ranger kicked the door open, then dragged Billy into the house. The rest of the Rangers watched in stunned silence. They had never seen Tommy so angry before.
Billy found himself being thrown into the bath tub, fully clothed, by his leader. Tommy hadn't spoken a word the entire time. "Tommy," Billy pleaded. "What's wron-AAH!" He cried out when the icy water slammed into him. Before Billy could recover, Tommy ripped of Billy's dirty clothes, grabbed a wire scrub brush and lye soap, then started to clean the five days worth of grime off the Blue Ranger. Once Billy was clean, Tommy turned off the water off and handed the now wide awake Billy a towel.
"Dry off and get dressed." Tommy said tersely. "Then, come down for something to eat." He spun on his heel and left Billy alone. "Oh, you have five minutes." Tommy called out over his shoulder.
I'm dead. Billy sighed as he toweled off. Billy was finished in four minutes, a new record for him. He went down stairs to find a large breakfast spead out on his table. His stomach growled.
"Eat something, Billy." Kimberly said and handed him a plate. "You must starved."
"I am." Billy blushed as he accepted his plate. "How long was I in the garage?" He asked.
"Today is the sixth day." Adam said.
"I was in there for five days?" Billy gasped. "No wonder Tommy is so mad at me!" He gulped down a glass of oragne juice.
"We were worried about you!" Aisha exclaimed. The other Rangers nodded in agreement.
"What were you doing..." Rocky started to ask, but Tommy cut him off.
"No questions now. Billy is going to teleport his Blue butt to the Command Center for a complete check up. Then, he's gonna answer my questions." The leader said through clentched teeth. He was visably trying to get control of his temper.
Billy meekly finished his breakfast. Then, the Power Rangers teleported to the Command Center. Just as the last glimmer of Power faded, Mr. Mitchell walked into the kitchen. He sighed as he saw the left over, multicolored sparkles in the air.
"I really wish William wouldn't do his experiments in the house." Mitchell shook his head.
Tommy paced the Command Center floor as Alpha-5 ran several scans on Billy. The other Rangers wisely stayed clear of their leader.
"I'm done, Tommy." Alpha announced. The Rangers gathered around the little robot.
"How is Billy?" Tommy demanded.
"Billy is fine. He just needs a good night's sleep." Alpha answered.
"Good. Adam," Tommy turned to the young Black Ranger. "Teleport into Billy garage and download all the data that has been recently used in Billy's computer."
"Sure." Adam saluted then teleported out in a flash of Black Light.
"Tommy, why do you want all that data for?" Rocky asked.
"Billy was doing something when he passed out. I want to know what." Tommy ran his hand through his long hair. "Alpha, can you analyze it?"
"Sure, Tommy." Alpha said. "No potato!"
"Problemo, Alpha." Rocky corrected. The other Rangers laughed at the little robot, grateful for the respite from the tensions.
"Oh, ai yi yi yi yi yi!" Alpha sighed.
"I'll help analyze the data, Alpha." Billy offered.
Tommy spun around, his normally placid brown eyes blazing with anger. "You will do no such thing, Billy Mitchell!" He growled. Billy cowered.
CALM DOWN, TOMMY. Zordon advised. BILLY, TAKE THIS PILL. A large, blue pill appeared in Billy's hand. AND GET SOME SLEEP.
"What if you need me?" Billy asked.
"If you are needed, we will contact you." Tommy said. "Ok." Billy sighed and did as he was told. As soon as Billy was gone, Adam teleported back in with the data from Billy's computer.
"Here." Adam handed the data over to Alpha-5.
"Thank you, Adam." Alpha piled the disks on the consol.
"How long will it take for you to know what happened to Billy?" Tommy asked, suddenly very tired.
"At least twenty four hours." Alpha responded.
"Damn." Tommy whispered, then he said to the Rangers: "let's go on with any plans you might have had. Just keep an eye on your Communitors."
Kim snuggled up to Tommy. "Wanna go to the mall with Aisha an' me?" She asked.
Tommy smiled at his girlfriend. "Sure, Beautiful." He kissed the top of her heard. "I have to talk to Zordon for a while. I'll meet you there."
"OK!" Kim squealed. Then, she and Aisha teleported out of the Command Center. Adam and Rocky teleported out shortly after. They were going to go for a job in the park, then a work out by the lake. Once Tommy was alone with Zordon and Alpha-5, he allowed the pain he was feeling show.
TOMMY, YOU WERE RIGHT TO BE ANGRY WITH BILLY. WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG. AND, YOU WERE RESPONSIBLE WITH YOUR ANGER. YOU SHOWED THAT YOU ARE A GOOD LEADER. Zordon tried to pacify the distrought White Ranger.
Tommy rubbed his eyes. "Thanx, Zordon." He sighed.
WHY DON'T YOU JOIN KIMBERLY AND AISHA AT THE MALL. CARRYING ALL THEIR PACKAGES WILL TAKE YOUR MIND OFF THINGS. Zordon laughed.
Tommy winced at the image of himself buried under a mountain of bags and boxes. He loved Kimberly, but he hated shopping. Ah well, love doth make slaves of us all. He sighed to himself. "OK. Bye, Alpha. Thanx in advance. Bye, Zordon." Tommy teleported out.
Tommy rematerialized in his apartment above the Youth Center. He grabbed his wallet and helmet, then ran down the back stairs to the parking lot behind the Youth Center. He climbed on the back of his green and black motorcycle, nicknamed THE MEALSTROM. Then, he placed a hard rock tape into the small walkman that hung at his narrow waist. The head phones were in the helmet. Tommy slipped the helmet on and roared out towards the mall.
"Thank you, Handsome." She giggled.
"Can't you thank me in a better way?" Tommy whispered.
"Tonight, baby." Kim kissed her boyfriend again.
Aisha rolled her eyes at the two lovers. "C'mon, you two! There's a big sale on at Bath and Body Works!" She hugged. Tommy and Kimberluy giggled, then joined their friend.
Rita watched the day's torrid events from the moon. "Oh, Zeddy-poo!" She called out.
"What is it?" Zedd grumbled. His voice was not as deep as it usually was. "I was about to go for a swim!" He was in his normal, silver and red, muscle-like armor. Out of the armor, Lord Zedd looked like he was barely the same age of the Rangers, maybe even younger. Zedd was a tall, slende, pale youth of sixteen with long, green dyed hair and luminous gray eyes. Under the armor, Zedd wore a tight, purple spandex body suit, simular to the Rangers' costumes. With out the amplification of the helmet, Zedd's voice was soft and pleasing.
Rita spun around. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT OF YOUR ARMOR?!" She screeched.
Zedd started at his "wife." He fingered the Coin that hung on a chain around his neck. A picture of Coyote was engraved on it. A Purple Light eminated from it. The Glow slowly worked itself up Zedd's arm. At the shoulder, it split into two. One finger of Light continued up to Zedd's brain. The other bolt shot down to Zedd's long withered heart.
"NO!" Rita shrieked. She raised her wand. A red beam shot out of the jewel and engulfed Zedd in its evil Light. The Lord of Evil vanished from the lunar palace.
Tommy collapsed into a chair. The packages surrounded him. "Are we almost done?" He asked.
Kimberly and Aisha laughed. "No, there are still five clothing stores we haven't hit yet and two jewerly stores!" Aisha answered. Tommy slid farther down in his chair.
"Help." Tommy whimpered. Just then, Tommy Communicator beeped. "YES! Saved by the beep!" The White Ranger stood up and gathered the packages.
"Where do we go?" Kimberly looked around. Tommy pointed towards the dark, abandoned service stairs. The three Rangers slipped into the stair well. Kimberly and Aisha took their packages so Tommy could contact Zordon.
"Wuzzup, Zordon?" Tommy asked.
-TELEPORT TO THE COMMAND CENTER. IT IS AN EMERGANCY.
"On our way." Tommy signed off. He grabbed a dolly on the landing and piled the results of the shipping trip on it. "Let's go." The Rnagers ad the dolly vanished in a flash of light.
"What's wrong, Zordon?" Tommy yelled over the din. "Alpha, could you please turn that off?" The robot flashed a thumbs up sigh and turned off the alarms. "Thanx."
"Anytime, Tommy."
RANGERS, WE ARE DETECTING THE ENERGY FROM THE PURPLE, COYOUTE NINJETTI COIN. Zordon answered.
"The Coyote Coin?" Rocky asked.
YES, RANGERS. TEN THOUSAND YEARS AGO, THE GREEN RANGER, KENJI, WAS CAPTURED BY RITA. THE YOUNG PURPLE RANGER, KENJI'S BEST FRIEND, WENT ON A QUEST FOR THE GREAT POWER ON PHEADOS, SIMULAR TO YOUR QUEST, SO THAT HE COULD SAVE HIS FRIEND WITH THE NEW POWER. DULCEA TOLD US THAT THE QUEST WAS SUCESSFUL, BUT WE NEVER HEARD FROM THE PURPLE RANGER AGAIN.
"What happened to him?" Adam asked.
SHORTLY AFTER THE PURPLE RANGER VANISHED, WE, THAT IS THER OTHER RANGERS AND MYSELF, FOUND KENJI'S BODY. BUT THE COIN WITH HIM WAS THE PURPLE RAPTOR COIN, NOT THE GREEN DRAGON ZORD COIN.
"So, that's how Rita got her hands on the Green Coin." Tommy whispered. "Zordon, why do I get the feeling that you are not telling us the whole story." Tommy tapped his finger just below his right eye.
YES, TOMMY, YOU ARE CORRECT. THIS RANGER'S NAME WAS ZEDD KAIMIZU. The Viewing Globe showed a picture of a sixteen year old boy with green hair.
"ZEDD!" The Rangers gasped.
"THE Zedd? The one with the chrome muscle suit?" Rocky yelped.
YES. APPARENTLY, RITA AND HER MONSTEROUS FAMILY CAPTURED ZEDD ONCE HE LEFT PHEADOS. THAT CHROME MUSCLE SUIT WE ENCHANTED. IT BLOCKED OUT ALL OF ZEDD'S MEMORIES OF HIS LIFE AS A RANGER AND INPLANTED THE IDEA THAT HE WAS THE LORD OF EVIL IN THEIR PLACE. AND, AS LONG AS ZEDD WORE THAT ARMOR, THE COYOTE COIN WOULD BE DORMANT AND USELESS TO ANYONE. IT SEEMS THAT FOR SOME REASON ZEDD TOOK OFF THE ARMOR.
"Where is Zedd now?" Aisha asked.
Alpha punched a few buttons, then handed Tommy the resulting sheet of paper. Tommy glanced at it. "Billy, what is a Virtual Plain?"
"It is an alternate demension. I was able to open a mental gateway there with my game." Billy whispered.
"Billy," Tommy bit his lower lip as a plan formed in his mind. "Would it be possible to open a physical gateway to the Virtual Plain?"
Billy closed his eyes. His lips started moving, but no sound came out. His hands made strange patterns in the air.
"Uh oh, I think you overloaded Billy's brain." Kimberly whispered to Tommy.
Moving as though in a trance, Billy glided towards the computer consol. He keyed in several sets of numbers. Suddenly, a multi-colored gateway opened.
"Well, who's gonna go through that thing?" Adam asked.
"I will." Tommy said. "Kimberly, you're in charge until I come back." He looked at his girlfriend.
"Ok. Becareful." She kissed Tommy's cheek. Tommy smiled then stepped through the gateway.
Zedd landed on his rear. He looked around, confused. THe Purple Glow engulfed him. All of his supressed memories as Zedd Kaimizu, the Purple Ranger, surge forwards.
"Oh! Kenji! I'm so sorry!" Zedd sobbed. "I'm so sorry I failed you, old friend!"
Tommy stepped through the portal and emerged in the middle of a lush green meadow. The same crystal boulders that greeted Billy, greeted Tommy. One was glowing a bright Golden-White. "Strange!" Tommy murmured. He reached towards the boulder. Just then, a White Falcon swoooped out of the sky and knocked Tommy to the ground, away from the boulder. "What the...?" Tommy gasped. There were trhee parallel gashes on his right hand from the Falcon's powerful talcons. The regal bird sat near Tommy. As bird and boy studied each other, Dulcea's final words came to Tommy:
May your Animal Spirits watch over you...
"I guess you just saved me from something, but what was it?" Tommy asked the Falcon. Suddenly the gashes on his hand healed into scars. Then, the scars started glowing Golden-White.
-If you had touched that boulder, it would have killed you. Your physical body would not be able to handle the Energy surge. Your Blue friend was here in mind only and found the Energy intensly erotic. The Falcon said, it's voice echoing inside Tommy's mind. The scars pulsed in time with the Falcon's words.
"This is Morphinominal!" Tommy exclaimed. "Falcon, I am looking for a boy, a little younger than me. He has green hair. His name is Zedd Kaimizu."
-Follow me! The Falcon took wing. Tommy ran after his Ninjetti Animal.
Zedd's sobs were interrupted by the rough tongue of a Purple Coyote. The green haired boy wiped away his tears. "Hi, boy." Zedd reached out to pet the animal. Just as Zedd's right hand reached the Coyote's head, the Purple animal bit the hand. "Ow! Hey!" Zedd nursed his wounded hand. He watched in amazement as the four puncture wounds healed into scars. They glowed Purple.
-Come on! Follow me! The Coyote urged. The Purple pair ran towards the edge of the forrest. They passed the crystal boulders. One glowed a brillant Purple. Zedd started towards it. -Don't touch that! The Coyote growled.
"Ok." Zedd held up his hands.
At the edge of the forrest, Zedd heard the cry of a Falcon. He looked up and saw a Golden-White Falcon and boy dressed all in White running towards him.
"Zedd!" The boy in White called out.
A name clicked into Zedd's mind. "Tommy! Over here!" Zedd shouted.
Tommy and the Falcon dashed over to Zedd and the Coyote. Tommy was out of breath and soaked with sweat. He leaned against a silver trunked tree.
"Tommy, what are you doing here?" Zedd asked. Tommy tried to answer, but a coughing fit cut him off. The Falcon flew into the field and plucked a tulip made from diamonds. Then, the White bird filled the glittery cup with water from the stream. It handed the tulip cup to the parched White Ranger.
-Drink it. The water is safe. The Falcon said.
Tommy gratefully gulped down the cold, sweet water. He wiped off his mouth with the back of his hand. "Thanx." He said to the Falcon.
"Tommy, what are you doing here?" Zedd repeated his question.
"I'm here to bring you back to the Rangers, Zedd."
"No!" Rita slammed her wand down on the stone floor of her palace. "That trice damned White Ranger has reached Zedd! Now, they'll have the Coyote Ninjetti Coin in their possession!" She spun around and stormed into Finster's work shop.
The small, onion domed monster was sculptinga new monster model out of clay. He ddin't notice his mistress's arrival, he was so intent on his work.
"FINSTER!" Rita screeched in Finster's pointy ear. The small monster jumped and dropped his knife.
"Yes, my Queen?" He asked.
"Finster, I need two monsters. One to destory Tommy and Zedd in the Virtual Plain and another to get rid of the remaining Power Punks on Earth!" Rita demanded.
"Of course, my Queen." Finster displayed two clay models. "Stalker is able to become invisable and fires Magma Missles." The monster was a heavily armored humaniod with a missle launcher slung across his back.
"Good. And, what's this?" Rita held up the second model. It was only a gray capsul.
"That is the capusul of the dreaded Holo monster. He must be placed in water. Once the capsul desolves, Holo will be released as a fog of LSD like gases." Finster explained.
"Good. Send Stalker to the Virtual Plain! Then release Holo Angel Grove bay!" Rita ordered.
"Yes, my Queen." Finster bowed and went about his tasks.
"Take me back to the Rangers! Why would you want me as a Ranger? After all I did to you guys. Especially you, Tommy. Because of me, you lost the Green Powers permanately!" Zedd slumped against the tree.
Tommy grabbed Zedd's shoulders and forced the green haired boy to face him. "I did the same thing while under Rita's spell! The only thing was all your memories were surpressed. There was no way you could fight the spell! I had all my memories, so it was easier for the Rangers to break the spell on me!" Tommy said quietly.
"Yeah, but you didn't marry Rita Repulssa!" Zedd laughed.
"True." Tommy concided. "Man, that spell must have been one hell of a doozy!" He shuttered.
"I guess so." Zedd petted the Coyote. The Falcon was on its shoulder. The two Ninjetti spirits watched the pair closely.
"Zedd, after I was released from Rita's spell, the Rangers accepted me with open arms. They forgave me for what I had done and got me to forgive myself. I was always grateful for that. Now, I'm offering the same thing to you, Zedd. You can stay with me in my apartment. It's not large, but it's in a good neighborhood. It's above the Youth Center, so Ernie is my landlord." Tommy said.
"But, what will you tell people?" Zedd asked.
Tommy shrugged his shoulders. Then, he flicked his long hair out of his eyes. "I'll just tell everyone that you are my cousin. You'll have to change your last name to Oliver, though." Tommy grinned. Tommy reclined on the grass. It was softer than any other grass he had laid on before. It was like laying on silk or velvet.
Zedd followed Tommy's example and stretched out underneath the tree. With a sigh the Purple Ranger let his mind wonder. He remembered, Kenji, his best friend, and the leader of the Rangers that Zedd had belonged to. Kenji was a shy, soft-spoken boy two years older than Zedd. Kenji had been on his own for a long time, so when the orphaned Zedd, then twelve, joined the team, Kenji took the young Purple Ranger under his wing. By the time he had been captured, Kenji had become Zedd's family; a strange combination of father, older brother, and best friend. Despite being over 10,000 years old, Zedd was still emotionally only sixteen and very confused and insecure about himself. He still needed the guidence of a mentor. With out either one knowing it, Tommy was fast replacing Kenji as Zedd Kaimizu's family.
"Billy," Kimberly gripped her friend's shoulder. "Have you had any word from Tommy or Zedd?" She asked.
"Negative. Our signal can not penetraite the Virtual Plain." Billy sighed. He pushed a few buttons then read the sheet of papaer that was spewed out from the computer. "Zordon, I've just detected another gateway into the Virtual Plain." Billy announced worriedly.
WHERE IS IT COMING FROM?
"Rita's palace." Billy said.
"And, there's no way to reach Tommy to warn him either!" Rocky growled.
WHOOP! WHOOP! The alarms rang out.
RANGERS, RITA HAS ALSO SENT THE HOLO MONSTER'S CAPSUL TO EARTH. IT HAS LANDED IN ANGEL GROVE BAY. BECAREFUL RANGERS, THIS MONSTER HAS AN LSD-LIKE GAS. DO NOT BREATH IT IN.
"Zordon, wouldn't our helmets protect us?" Adam asked.
"Negative, Adam." Billy answered instead. "We'd need a filter of some kind to prevent the hallucenogenic gases from affecting us."
"Or Tim Leary to go in before us." Aisha commented wrily. Before any of the Rangers could groan at Aisha's comment, a commotion broke out on the viewing globe. The Rangers watched in horror as civilians fell under Holo's spell. Kimberly turned to Billy.
"How long would we have until the gas effected us with out a filter." Kimberly asked.
Billy and Alpha started running computations. Just then, Billy doubled over, grapping his head. A loud moan escaped from his lips.
"Billy!" Kimberly yelled. Rocky caught the Blur Ranger as he passed out. Alpha teleported a cot from the Medical Chamber. Rocky laid his friend on the cot. "Alpha, what's wrong with him?" The Pink Ranger demanded.
"Ai yi yi yi yi yi!" Alpha exclaimed as he scanned the still Ranger. Then, Billy started to snore, sounding like a train derailment. "His exhausion finally caught up with him!" The little robot threw up his hands.
"Great!" Kimberly grumbled. "Alpha, do you know how long we could last in Holo's fog?"
"With your regular helmets? Five minutes, tops. That's if you don't fight any putties. Less than a minute if you have to fight." Alpha waved a sheet of paper in the air.
Kimberly ran her hands through her hair. She turned to Rocky. "Rocky, aren't you a volunteer fire fighter? What would you recomend?"
"Masks and air tanks. The suits would protect our skin." Rocky answered.
RANGERS, AS LONG AS HOLO'S CAPSUL IS EMERSED IN WATER, HIS GAS CLOUD WILL HAVE A NEVER ENDING SUPPLY OF TOXINS.
"OK, Adam, your Zord is the only one that can go underwater. Morph and go after Holo's capsul." Kimberly ordered. She turned to Alpha. "Alpha, teleport Adam south of the capsul since the wind is blowing from that direction, pushing the cloud to the north."
"You got it, Boss." Adam saluted. "IT'S MORPHIN TIME!"
THE FROG!
Once Adam was gone, Kimberly asked Alpha to start working on the masks and tanks.
"Damn!" Rita swore. "Finster, the Black Ranger is going after Holo's capsul! Send down Goo Fish to protect it!" Rita commanded.
"Of course, my Queen." Finster bowed. With a flick of the lever, the Monster-o-matic sent Goo Fish to Earth.
"Adam to Command Center." Adam activated his radio.
-Command Center here. What is your location? Alpha asked.
"About 250 yards south of the capsul." Adam answered.
-Becareful, our scanners show that Goo Fish is near the capsul. Rita must have sent him down to protect the capsul.
Adam checked his radars. "I see him. Powering up weapons systems!" The young Black Ranger pressed a red button on his control pannel.
:So, Black Ranger, do you think you can defeat me all by your lonesome self?" Goo Fish sneered, then fired his toxic goo at the Frog Zord.
Adam dodged the beast and lashed out with his long tongue. It wrapped around the monster. Then, the tongue was charged with millions of volts of electricity. The monster exploded in a giant fireball.
"Command Center, this is Adam. Goo Fish has been eliminated. I'm right in front of the capsul." Adam brought up the scan of the large, gray capsul. Unearthly runes decorated the exterior. "So, what am I gonna do with it?"
-ADAM, YOU MUST DESTORY THE CAPSUL. USE YOUR ICE LASARS. Zordon recommended.
"My what?" Adam asked as he looked at all the buttons on the control consol. He didn't know what half of them did.
-The big blue botton on your right control stick. Alpha said.
"Oh, OK." Adam pressed the button. A blue beam shot out of the Frog Zord's eyes. It encased the capsul in a block of ice, then it exploded. "Target eliminated!"
The Rangers watched the battle on the viewing globe. They exchanged "high fives."
"Good job, Adam!" Kimberly spoke into the mike. "Teleport back to the Command Center. Alpha has the new helmets read, plus some special weapons."
-OK! Checking out! Adam teleported back to the Command Center. Once safe in the Power Rangers' head quarters, Adam unMorphed. Alpha handed him his new helmet. These new helmet has the same symbols of the old, Dino-Zord helmets, but instead of conforming to the Ranger's head, the helmet was large and tubular in shape. The eye slots were replaced by an illegally dark face shield. The most radical feature was the breathing mask/filter.
"These helmets will allow you to breath in any hostile environment. To activate these helmets use the command: EVA HELMETS, POWER UP!" Alpha said. Then, he handed them each a new gun with tanks the size and shapes of soda cans and a half circle of metal near the business end of the gun. "These guns will emit a gas that will renender Holo's gas harmless. After Holo is defeated, Zordon and I will mist the area with an antidote for any civilians who were affected."
"OK," Kimberly said. "IT'S MORPHIN TIME!"
THE FROG!
THE CRANE!
THE BEAR!
THE APE!
The Rangers rematerialized on the beach. The multi colored mist surrounded the teens.
"EVA HELMETS, POWER UP!" Kimberly yelled. With a flash of lightning, the EVA helmets replaced the old helmets. Then, the Rnagers pulled out the new guns. "Let's get this bag of hot air!" Kimberly narrowed her eyes. "Ready, aim, FIRE!" The Rangers pulled the triggers, sending waves of energy into the fog. Slowly, the fog lost it's shimery, multi-colored hue. In a few minutes, the dreaded Holo monster was just an ordinary fog being dissipated by a strong sea breeze.
"Yes! We did it!" Kimberly laughed.
"Way to go, girl!" Aisha hugged her friend.
"Thanks, Aisha." Kimberly squealed.
"Yeah, Kimmie," Rocky added. "I think Tommy will be very proud of you when he returns." Kimberly blushed with happiness.
"Well, let's get back to the Command Center to wait for Tommy and Zedd." She said. The Rangers teleported back to their base.
"Hey!" Tommy yelped. "What's going on?" Zedd shrugged his shoulders in response. Tommy squinted into the smoke. He could barely make out a humaniod shape. "Who's there?" Tommy called out. He was answered by a hard punch to his jaw. Tommy flew back against the remains of the shattered tree. Zedd rushed to help his friend up.
"You OK?" Zedd asked.
"Yeah." Tommy brushed his clothes off. "IT'S MORPHIN TIME!"
"THE FALCON!
THE COYOTE!"
The two Rangers peered through the thick smoke. Their enhanced vision allowed them to see Stalker. The monster raised his missle launcher.
:Prepare to die, Rangers!: Stalker proclaimed.
"I see somethings haven't chanced since I was last a Ranger. Rita's monsters are still as dumb as ever!" Zedd commented, then he kicked the monster in the chest. Zedd cried out as Stalker grabbed his ankle and crushed it.
"Let him go!" Tommy snarled. He pulled out Saba, his magic, talking sabre. "Are you ready, Saba?" Tommy asked the sabre.
"Of course, Tommy!" Saba exclaimed.
Tommy jumped into the air, Saba held high over his head. The sabre glowed Golden-White. Saba cut through the arm that was holding Zedd. The Purple Ranger fell to the ground.
:You will pay for that, White Ranger!: Stalker growled. Then, he gave chase. Stalker fired his magma missles at Tommy, striking the Leader of the Power Rangers in the back. Tommy fell to the now scorched ground and laid there, not moving.
"TOMMY!" Zedd cried out. "POWER BOLA!" Zedd summoned his ancient Power Weapon: three large, round diamonds tied together with varying lenghts of purple leather. Zedd twirled the Bola over his head, then launched it. It wrapped around Stralker's neck, crushing it's head.
The wounded monster stumbled in the direction of Zedd. The Purple Ranger backed away from the blinded monster, unable to run with his injured ankle. Stalker aimed a missle at Zedd.
"Shit!" Zedd muttered. "Tommy! Wake up!" He yelled.
"NINJETTI CORKSCREW KICK!" Tommy called out weakly. Zedd wisely ducked as his leader used his body to drill a hole in Stalker's middle. Rita's monster exploded in a cloud of red smoke.
With the monster gone, the Rangers unMorphed and collasped in a heap. Zedd's right ankle was swollen to nearly double its normal size. Tommy's shirt had been burned off his body. The normally tanned skin under it was covered with red, raw, angry burns and a large bruise covered the left side of Tommy's face.
"You OK?" Zedd asked.
"Copacetic, podna." Tommy grinned.
Gingerly, Tommy stood up, then offered his hand to his newest Ranger. Together, the bedraggled pair limped towards the portal home.
-Hello? A sleepy voice answered.
"Lynn? This is Tommy." Tommy said.
-Tommy, what's wrong? Lynn asked.
"Um, well, I need a favor from you. My cousin, Zedd, just moved in with me from a private school in Japan. He needs someone to show him around the school. I have, um, other commitments during the day, so I can't do it. Um, I was wondering if you could show Zedd around for me?" Tommy asked.
-Is your cousin as cute as you? Lynn asked coyly.
"Ten times better lookin'!" Tommy instisted.
-Sure, then, it's a date! Bye! Lynn hung up.
Tommy hung up, then stripped for bed. A satisfied smile creased his face. His biology partner was a pretty, sweet Chinese girl. Just the girl for Tommy's "cousin."
Zedd cowered behind Tommy's back. The Rangers were outside Kaplan's office, waiting for the principal to give Zedd a schedule and locker. Thanks to Billy's hacking skills, Zedd Kaimizu, now Zedd Oliver, had a complete, albeit phony, history complete with school records and a driver's lincense. Once Zedd had his scheduale in his hand, he followed Tommy to his locker.
"So, when are you gonna show me around?" Zedd asked. He tugged at the hem of the purple tie-dyed T-shirt he wore over a pair of tight, black jeans.
"Sorry, Zedd," Tommy said, shutting his locker. "I can't show you around. I have to tutor a kid in Advanced Native American History class. So, I asked my biology partner, Lynn Tan, to show you around." Tommy spun the Purple Ranger around and pointed to a petite Chinese girl with long hair. Zedd smiled shily.
"Hi, I'm Lynn." Lynn slipped her arm around Zedd's waist. Zedd blushed bright red. "Well, let the tour begin!" With that, Lynn tugged Zedd away from the Rangers.
Tommy smiled at his "cousin," then turned to his friends.
Billy leaned over and whispered. "Who do you have to tutor?"
"No one. I already met with him today." Tommy grinned
devilishly.
