Authors Note: This story is rated G. I am a big Tommy/Kim fan so most of my fan fiction I write about couples will have Tommy/Kim in them. The song is "Helping me get over you" by Travis Tritt. This story takes place two months after There's no Business Like Snow Business.

Tommy Oliver plopped down on his bed and let out a tired breath. Lately Mondo had been merciless. Tommy had just got back from a fight and lifted his head to see how many hours of sleep he still had until he had to get up and go to school. Tommy saw that it was 2:00 in the morning and groaned. Then he saw that his answering machine was blinking and he thought 'Who would call me this late?' He rolled over and pressed the play button. Tommy sat straight up as the voice came on 'Hey Tommy. I know you were not expecting to hear from me but I am coming in tomorrow with Jeff and I was just wondering if I could see you. Jeff wants to meat you and I would love to see you. Well any way if it is not to late call me back. If not then I am going to be staying at the Holiday Inn and am going to the youth center tomorrow with Kat and Adam. I hope to see you some time. Bye.' Tommy just sat there for a second, stunned and lost for words. Kim he hadn't heard from her in so long since the letter. Jeff that must be him the new guy that replaced him. Not like he cared he was with Kat now and happy wasn't he?

Tommy ran to his locker the next day he hadn't slept well the night before and was about to go to sleep on his feet. Tommy closed his eyes and concentrated on what notebooks he needed for that class. When a voice came from behind "Hey there." Tommy turned around as he shoved some notebooks in his book bag and saw his girl friend Kat. "So Kim got in this morning and she told me she called you last night and told you about the party at the youth center. Are you going to come?" Tommy said "Yeah I mean why not? I am going out with you now so why not?" Kat smiled a illuminating smile and said "Yeah." Then the bell rang and Tommy kissed Kat on the cheek and whispered bye in her ear and scurried to get to his class.

Tommy sat on his bed and was waiting on Kat they had agreed to go together to the party and it was decided that Kat pick Tommy up. Tommy sighed and opened his top nightstand drawer and pulled out a picture of him and Kim at the lake looking so in love and so young. Tommy sighed and put the picture back in the drawer as the doorbell rang.

Kimberly Hart sat in a corner, sure the party was great all her friends were there. There was one missing though Tommy, that name brought both a smile and a frown. The night before Kat had filled her in on all that had been going on in Angel Grove and had been sure to include that her and Tommy were going out. Not that she cared she was going out with Jeff now and was happy wasn't she?

I know you never ask his name
But in your heart I know you wonder
I'm not much good at playing games
I'm just trying to keep from going under

There's no forever in his eyes
It's not the love we once knew
And it might be a sin
But tonight I've got a friend
Who's helping me get over you

Kim sighed to her self why did she dump Tommy? Sure there were lots or reason's when she had sent the letter but now she couldn't remember one. She looked at Jeff and smiled as he kissed her on the cheek and whispered in her ear "Now is this so bad?" Kim shock her head no and looked down as she swirled her straw around in her cup. When she looked up she saw him. She had to take a double look he looked so good, she had to control her self not to go up to him and wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him. 'Oh my gosh he's coming over hear.' Kim thought nervously to her self.

Kim watched as he walked over his and Kat's hands intertwined and when he got there he locked eyes with her and said "Hi Kim."

There she was Kimberly, his x girlfriend. If he was over her then why did he still have butterflies in his stomach, sweating palms, and why did his heart start beating faster. She looked so good he just wanted to take her in his arms and never let go but he couldn't. Then he snapped out of it as Jeff stood up and said "Hi you must be Tommy Oliver. I am Jeff Brown; I go to the University of Florida Law school. I have heard so much about you." Tommy shock his out reached hand and did his best to smile as he said "I hope its all good things you've heard." Jeff smiled and said "It is. It is."

They all laughed and talked for what seemed like days but Tommy couldn't keep his eyes off Kim she just seemed to sparkle. Then it was time to go and Tommy walked with Kim and Jeff outside and Kat right beside him. Then Kat said "How long are you two staying?" Kim answered and said "We are going back tomorrow. Jeff has a final tomorrow." Kat smiled and hugged Kim and said "Don't be a stranger." Kim said "I want." Then Tommy hugged her and he didn't want to let go but in the end he did and said "Yeah you better keep in touch." Kim smiled and said "I will. Kat you have a good guy don't let him get away." With that she got in the car and waved as they drove off into the cold October night. Tommy sighed as Kat put an arm around him and they walked to Kat's car. Tommy thought to him self 'Good bye Kim. I love you but I am with Kat now and I know I can't hurt her. I will always love you Kim but I have to move on bye.'

Kim looked out the passenger's side window into the dark night and thought 'Maybe it's not meant to be. If it is then will know. For now however I'm with Jeff and I know he love's me and I can't hurt him. I love you Tommy now and always but I can't have you right now. I have to move on and get over you I love you. Bye'

Oh I did the best I could do
