Kat sighed she was in front of her best friends house. She debated on wither to stay or keep walking. Kat sighed and walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. She waited as she heard footsteps on the other side and the Rocky answered. When he saw her he said "Kat what's the matter?" Kat looked down and then asked, "Can I come in?" Rocky stepped to the side and Kat came in her head down, Rocky took her coat and hung it on the rack beside the door. Then they went into the brightly decorated living room and sat down on the comfortable brown couch and Rocky said, "Now what's up?" Kat said, "Its Tommy. He dumped me he said that Kim had called him and they talked and he was going to be with her. Then he said that he would always love me as a friend but he had to follow his heart and he hoped that I could forgive him someday." Kat said the last sentence with a tear coming down her cheek.

Rocky looked up and said, "What did you say?" Kat looked at Rocky with pain in her eyes and said, "I said I was happy for him. I hoped that every thing goes the way you want. Then I said that it wouldn't affect our friendship in the least. Rocky I didn't mean it. I want Tommy! I love him and I hurt so much. I feel like he just ripped my heart out ant through it against the wall!" Kat started to cry and Rocky took her in his arms and tried to clam her.

Rocky thought to himself as Kat cried on his shoulder 'Damn Tommy. How could you do this to Kat? I could never ever hurt her like this.' Then Kat sat up and said "He said that I was a nice girl and that I deserved better then him and that he was sure that I would find someone new. He said that I deserved someone that could love me. Rocky I want him. Why can't I have him?!" Then she broke down crying again and said "What am I not good enough for him or something? I don't get it! Why doesn't anybody want me!" Now she was bawling and Rocky said "Kat, I am going to tell you something that will hurt but you have to hear it. Tommy loves Kim he always has. Kim holds Tommy's heart, if she said jump he would say how high? Kim loves Tommy just as much and I know you will get through this because you are a strong person. I know you don't believe it right now but you will find someone better that you love even more."

Kat looked down at the floor and said "When?" Rocky looked at her and said, "I don't know. It will take time; Rome wasn't built in a day. Time heals all wounds Kat. That's all you need right now is time and a shoulder to cry on and my shoulder is always open." Kat managed to crack a quick smile but it quickly faded and she leaned on his shoulder and cried.

When Kat was finished crying she just laid on his shoulder for what seemed like forever. Finally she got up and Rocky said, "Do you feel any better?" Kat looked at him and shock her head yes and then she said, "He's leaving tomorrow. He's leaving on the 9:00 o'clock plane. Oh god Rocky I can't let him go! I want to so bad just go to the air port and tell him how much I love him!" Rocky looked at Kat with sadness in his eyes and said, "It wouldn't do any good Kat. He love's Kim and as much as I would like to say that it would change things it wouldn't. He would still get on the plane and go back to Kim." This made Kat start to cry again and Rocky collected her in his arms and thought 'God Kat I love you so much but you don't even know it. One thing is for sure I will be hear waiting for you as long as it takes.'

Then once her sobs and calmed again she sat up and said "Rocky I don't think I can let him go." Rocky said, "You have to Kat. You don't have a choice. Kat you are going to have to let him go." Kat got up and said, "I can't! I love him so much! Oh god it hurts!" Rocky stood up and said "Kat I know you love him, but he loves someone else. You are just going to have to accept that." Kat looked at him anger rising her eyes and said "Don't tell me what I have to accept and what I don't. You are not my mother or father. Don't tell me what to do. I'll love him forever if I want to! I don't have to accept it, I DON'T!!" Then Rocky took this calmly and said "Kat if you don't accept that he is gone and that he doesn't love you. If you don't accept that it is over then you are in for a lot more pain. Let him go." With that he took her in her arms and sat down her shacking and Rocky saying, "Let him go Kat. Let him go."

Then Kat got off his shoulder and looked at the clock on the end table, it read 10:30. She wiped a single tear away and said, "I should get home. Thank you Rocky. I really needed this." Then Rocky said, "I know Kat. It will get better. The pain won't last forever. I know right now it seems like it will but it won't." Kat shock her head and slowly got up and Rocky got her coat from the rack in the hall and helped her put it on. Then when she was standing in the doorway about to walk outside she turned around and hugged Rocky and said, "You are a good friend Rocky. Thank you." Rocky hugged back and said, "I know bye." Kat broke and then walked out the door.

Rocky watched her walk away until she was out of sight and then thought to himself 'Someday Kat you will get over Tommy. Then you will see how much I love you but until then I will settle for being in the shadows and someone for you to lean on. I love you Kat bye.'
